How to Safely Take Down Your Springfree Trampoline for Winter
As the temperatures drop and snowflakes start to fall, it’s important to prepare your springfree trampoline for the winter season. This is only if you do not plan on using it in the winter months – Your springfree can be used all year around so check out this post for more info. Properly taking down and storing your trampoline ensures its longevity and keeps it in top-notch condition for future bouncing fun. In this blog post, we’ll walk you through the steps to safely disassemble your springfree trampoline and share a tip about weather covers for those who prefer a quicker solution.
Step 1: Gather Your Tools
Guess what? you don’t need any!! Just your hands 🙂
Step 2: Dropping the Safety Net
You need to start by dropping the safety net. Remove the white clips from the net rods that are down by the frame. Once the white clips are removed pull down on the net rod and then pull it out. Once out put the white clip back in place. This ensures they don’t get lost.
Step 3: Disassemble the Poles
If you have a Flexrhoop you can unsnap the bands that hold the rim horizontal. Then the net rods have a metal piece towards the top area- pull this metal sleeve up and fold in the net rod onto the mat.
Step 4: Cover your Trampoline
Leave everything on the mat. You can purchase a weather cover to go over your trampoline much like a grill cover. However, it is still recommended to brush off the snow as it piles up. Another alternative is getting a large kid’s ball and putting it in the center then put a dark colored tarp over the ball and trampoline (a dark color will help drawn the sunshine to it and melt off any snow build up faster). You will then need to secure the tarp with bungies or tuck under the legs. By doming it up and the dark tarp it’s more likely the snow will slide off and not get much build up. However, you should still keep an eye on it during those snow days.
Step 5: Reassemble
When you’re ready to get bouncing again all you need to do is snap your flexrhoop rim back in place, straighten out the net rods and pull down the metal sleeve then pop the net rods back in their holds on the frame.
Happy bouncing, and stay safe this winter!
